Get an AI estimate and review it before saving

Photos and descriptions can provide a starting point, but they cannot measure your meal.

Estimate a meal from a photo

Tap Scan on the main screen. It opens in Meal mode. Take a photo or choose one from your library, add a description if helpful, then start the analysis. Review the returned name and protein amount before saving.

Estimate from a description

For text only, open Add Protein and choose AI. Describe the food and how much you ate, then request an estimate. This input method does not take a photo; use Scan for meal photos.

Both routes require Protein Tracker Pro and a network connection. Scan and AI estimates are unavailable in the mainland China App Store.

Help the estimate

Show clearly visible ingredients and describe portions, quantities and details the photo cannot reveal. A photo alone cannot determine what's in a shake, soup or blended dish. For packaged foods, scan or enter the nutrition label values and check the portion you ate.

Correct or discard the result

AI results can be wrong, even with a clear description. Adjust the name and protein amount, then tap the checkmark to save. Tap X to discard the result. A saved estimate is an entry you can later edit like other app-created entries.

Privacy and connection

AI sends the photo or description you submit through AIProxy to OpenAI. It needs a network connection. Read the English privacy policy for the providers and data handling. Manual logging remains available without using AI.

If a request fails, check your connection and Pro access. Please contact me with the error message and app version if it continues.
