Log protein in grams, by food weight or by serving

Choose the input method that matches the information you have.

Enter a meal

Tap Add Protein on the main screen. Choose an input method, enter its values, give the meal a name if you want, and tap the checkmark to save. Check the date before saving if you are recording another day. Tap X to discard an unfinished entry.

Protein: a known amount

Use the direct protein method when you already know how many grams of protein you ate. Enter the protein amount, not the total weight of the food.

Percent: protein per 100 g

Use the relative method when a label gives protein per 100 g. Enter the weight of food you ate and the protein per 100 g. For example, 150 g of food with 10 g of protein per 100 g contains 15 g of protein. The app does the arithmetic.

Quantity: protein per serving

Use the quantity method for portions or items. Enter how many you ate and the protein in one. For example, half a serving of a food with 20 g per serving contains 10 g of protein. Fractional quantities are supported.

The Quantity method with serving quantity and protein per serving fields.
Use the method that matches your label or portion.

Where the values come from

Manual entries use the values you supply. Save a food as a preset to reuse its values. With Pro, you can scan a food label or estimate a meal from a photo or description. Check the reading or estimate before saving.
